Following the early resignation of Professor Kuhlmann (University Hospital Münster) from the Scientific Advisory Board, the IZKF has appointed two new professors from the field of neurology to the IZKF Advisory Board. We warmly welcome Prof Dr Dorothea Schulte from the Neurological Institute in Frankfurt am Main and Prof Dr Susanne Wegener from the University Hospital Zurich.

The Scientific Advisory Board (WiB) is the external supervisory body of the IZKF. Programmes and the financial framework are reviewed and approved by the External Scientific Advisory Board. This body meets on site every two or three years to oversee the general development of the IZKF and the proposed projects. The Board consists of at least 10 internationally recognized scientists from universities and research institutes led by an elected chairperson. It assesses the planned research activities, monitors the scientific standard and clinical relevance of the projects in a national and international comparison and evaluates the scientific results achieved by the centre. It is also involved in the strategic development of the Centre’s scientific focus and structures.

We would like to thank the members of the IZKF Scientific Advisory Board and look forward to a successful collaboration.
